All that's best about the Algarve, all year round. Quinta Algarvia is situated in the centre of the Golden Triangle, just outside the spectacular Quinta do Lago estate.

Set in a secluded area among pine woodlands and only 5kms from the sea, the location makes the most of the peace and beauty of the nearby nature reserve, the 10km of uncrowded golden beaches, and some of the best sporting activities and entertainment you'll find anywhere on the Algarve.

The residence is classically Portuguese on the outside and light and airy on the inside. Decorated with fine contemporary finishes and benefiting from large elegant rooms, Quinta Algarvia is a stylish retreat.

Mature gardens, lawns and palm trees, with a feature Japanese pond, a stunning swimming pool, an open-air terrace and barbecue, and a private gym, steam room and outdoor hot tub complete your perfect picture.

The beaches, resorts and delicious climate of the Algarve are famous all over the world, but the history and culture of the region are not quite so well-known. Ruled in turn by Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Visigoths before the Moors invaded in the 8th century, the name Algarve comes from the Arabic for 'the West', and the Moorish influence on the architecture, atmosphere - and food - of the area is still strong.

The landscape of the Algarve has always been a marriage of mountains and ocean, and the same characteristics come together in the local cuisine.

Fish combines with game in dishes like cata plana, and there are Moorish echoes in specialties like xarém, made with maize and shellfish. Other fish delicacies include caldeirada stew, and locally-caught sardines, cod and conger eel.

Crisp white vinho verde is perfect drinking for hot summer afternoons, and if the port isn't enough to tempt you there's always the more adventurous local aguardente.

With Almançil to the north and the resorts of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo to the south, some of the best beaches, restaurants and entertainment on the coast are only a few minutes away by car.

The Vilamoura area also includes world-class night-life and a casino, while by day there is golf, riding, tennis, sailing, and water sports, as well as dozens of attractions catering specially for families. The older towns and villages in the region are thronged with local crafts, and tiny antique shops and boutiques, as well as weekly fruit and vegetable markets. And there are cultural and musical events on offer at the San Lourenço centre in Almancil, as well as Roman remains to visit in Vilamoura.

The Algarve offers one of the best climates in Europe making this a year-round location for families enjoying the expanse of golden beaches or for golfers to enjoy a number of excellent golf courses within easy reach of the villa.
