Mauritius is a paradise year-round destination, located in the south west of the Indian Ocean, full of natural beauty and surrounded by tranquil turquoise seas.

Stargazer is a well-designed villa situated on the exclusive estate of Villas Valriche enjoying spectacular ocean views. There are four en suite bedrooms with three on the ground floor and the master suite on the first floor.

The estate itself is surrounded by a lush nature reserve which is home to deer, wild boar, monkeys and rare bird species.

Guests can enjoy dining in the privacy of their luxury villa or sampling the gourmet delights of the nearby Chateau restaurant or any of the restaurants within one of the two luxury hotels on the estate.

A tennis club, beach club and a championship golf course are just some of the fantastic facilities on the estate. The private beach gives access to numerous water sports, including kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing and sailing. The sea temperature ranges during the year from 22°C to a balmy 27°C.

The paradise island of Mauritius is 45kms in width and 65kms in length, with a population of around 1.2 million. It is a melting pot of cultures, traditions and customs, each moulded by a blend of Indian, Chinese, African and European influences, as well as a strong colonial history. Mauritians are renowned for their genuine warmth and hospitality towards visitors.

The south west region of Mauritius was a French colonial stronghold and the Villas Valriche Estate is situated on a former sugar cane plantation, The Bel Ombre Domaine. The Villas Valriche Estate celebrates its colonial and sugar plantation heritage and adjoins the Black River Gorge National Park, which is home to many beautiful birds and animals. Other hidden treasures include foothills where over 2000 deer roam, rising to steep escarpments and a spectacular waterfall that cascades through the forest.

The vibrant town of Black River is just over 20 minutes drive to the west, with Port Louis and all its shops, restaurants and markets, approximately 60 minutes to the north. There is direct access to the 1,000 Hectare Valriche Nature Reserve, which can be reached by walking trails, or with mountain bikes or on horseback.

There are four luxury hotels, including the magnificent colonial Le Telfaire and the Heritage Hotel. The resort includes a spectacular 18 hole championship golf course which was created and designed by Peter Matkovich, the renowned South African golf architect. The course also includes a driving range, clubhouse and a 9 hole par three course.

The historic Plantation Chateau de Bel Ombre, which dates back to the early 1800s, has been totally refurbished to its former glory, and this now forms the focal point of the Estate, as a fine dining restaurant.
